Stand Among Friends is located on the campus of Florida Atlantic University in the Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing, which is a “Leadership In Energy and Environmental Design” (LEED) certified building.
Stand Among Friends’ Disability Center signifies unprecedented excellence. It is the first of its kind in the United States, harboring an on-line resource library providing the crucial information that people living with disabilities need to enhance their quality of life. The ultimate goal is to improve day-to-day life for people with disabilities.
At the core of our Disability Center is our fully operational computer lab that features many technology devices that enable people with all types of disabilities to utilize computers, learn new software applications and create a world of possibilities.
The Disability Center also houses our disability employment program that focuses on college students and adults with disabilities. At our Center, people with disabilities are able to develop employment skills, create resumes, research job leads and work with our expert staff to assist them in preparing for, finding and maintaining employment that is commensurate with the level of education and experience.
